Good eating habits help everyone stay healthy. But when you have HIV, eating a healthy diet (having good nutrition) can be even more important. Get tips now on healthy eating and regaining lost weight.

Sometimes HIV infection and HIV medicines can make it hard to eat healthy foods and get the vitamins and food your body needs. That's because:

  • You may not feel hungry
  • Food may not taste the same
  • You may not want to eat because you have a sore mouth or feel sick to your stomach
  • You may feel too tired or depressed to cook or eat

If you are having any of these problems with your eating, tell your healthcare provider. He or she can suggest things that can help you eat to stay healthy.
