Liver disease

The liver cleans waste from your body. It changes sugars into energy for your body to use. It also produces bile, a digestive juice.

One kind of liver disease is hepatitis (said: heh-puh-TY-tis). There are 3 main types of hepatitis: hepatitis A, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C. All 3 are caused by viruses. Cirrhosis (said: suh-ROW-sis) is another liver disease. Read on to learn more about these liver diseases.
